Occupation forces press ahead with their offensive against Qalandia and Kafr Aqab

JERUSALEM, Thursday, August 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Thursday pressed ahead with their offensive against the Qalandiya refugee camp and the Kafr Aqab town, north of occupied Jerusalem, for the second consecutive day.

The occupying forces carried out large-scale raids and searches of homes, detention campaigns, and maintained heavy reinforcements.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that the gun-toting soldiers have injured 16 Palestinians since the offensive began as they continued to occupy the headquarters of the Popular Committee and the Jerusalem Governorate office in the refugee camp.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers closed Jerusalem Street, which links the town and refugee camp, as well as the road leading to the camp, and fired stun grenades toward journalists at the entrance to the camp, ordering them to leave the area in an attempt to prevent media coverage of the events unfolding inside.

Israeli troops assaulted several young men following their arrest, while maintaining a heavy military presence at the entrance to the refugee camp.
