JERUSALEM, August 5, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) crews treated eight casualties during the large-scale Israeli raid in the Qalandiya refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, according to the PRCS.

It said that its crews provided first aid treatment to eight Palestinians who sustained injuries due to being beaten up by Israeli troops in the refugee camp.

It added that its crews transferred all casualties to a hospital and evacuated five patients from the refugee camp.

Earlier today, the occupying forces barged their way into the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, imposing a curfew and stationing snipers on the rooftops of several residential buildings.

The soldiers closed major roads, prevented dawn prayers at all mosques, and sent text messages to several residents announcing the start of a large-scale military campaign,

Troops also raided the headquarters of the camp's Popular Committee, carried out a wave of arrests, with several Palestinians assaulted during their detention.

They severely beat journalist Muhammad Sumrin while he was covering the raid and fired stun grenades at other journalists.

Earlier, Israeli media quoted security sources as saying the army was considering expanding attacks on several refugee camps across the occupied West Bank, including Qalandiya, following the raids in Jenin and Tulkarm.

Qalandiya camp is home to more than 15,000 Palestinian refugees living in a densely populated area.
