HEBRON, August 4, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces began demolishing a school in the Shaab al-Butum area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, on Tuesday.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces, accompanied by military vehicles and bulldozers, stormed the Shaab al-Butum area and began demolishing the school building as part of the ongoing targeting of educational institutions in Masafer Yatta.

The demolition comes amid an escalating Israeli campaign in Masafer Yatta that includes the demolition of homes and other structures, the forced displacement of Palestinian communities, and increased restrictions on residents, including measures targeting schools and the right to education, in what Palestinians say is an effort to empty the area of its inhabitants in favor of Israeli colonial expansion.
