TULKARM, August 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces seized copies of the Palestinian newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida on Sunday as they were being transported to the Tulkarm and Jenin governorates, after stopping the vehicle carrying them at a temporary military checkpoint set up at the eastern entrance of Tulkarm city.

Murad Yassin, director of Al-Hayat Al-Jadida's office in Tulkarm, told WAFA that Israeli forces stopped the vehicle transporting the newspaper copies near the city's eastern entrance while it was heading to Tulkarm.

He said the forces conducted a thorough search of the vehicle before confiscating the newspaper copies.

Yassin added that the driver, Majed Shana'a, was subjected to field interrogation and later released after the forces seized two bundles of copies designated for Jenin governorate and one bundle intended for Tulkarm governorate.
