UK condemns escalating Israeli colonist violence in the West Bank

LONDON, July 31, 2026 (WAFA) — UK Minister of State for the Middle East Stephen Doughty condemned the escalating violence by Israeli colonists in the occupied West Bank, reaffirming the United Kingdom's strong opposition to attacks targeting Palestinian communities.

In a statement, Doughty said that protecting civilians, respecting international law, and ensuring accountability for those responsible for acts of violence are fundamental principles that must be upheld.

He called on the Israeli government to protect Palestinians and hold perpetrators of violence accountable, warning that impunity only fuels further extremism.

The United Kingdom also reiterated its opposition to the expansion of Israeli settlements, saying such policies undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and increase insecurity for both Palestinians and Israelis.
