TUBAS, July 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday brought additional mobile homes to the vicinity of the Tayasir military checkpoint, east of Tubas, as part of plans to establish a new Israeli colonial settlement in the area.
Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of the Al-Maleh Village Council, said Israeli occupation forces continue to transport caravans to the site as part of a plan to establish a new colonial settlement, one of several colonial settlements whose planned construction had previously been announced.
Daraghmeh added that Israeli occupation authorities are carrying out land-leveling and bulldozing works around the checkpoint while advancing plans to construct a synagogue, children's recreational facilities, and swimming pools as part of the colonial project.
The latest move comes amid an escalation in Israeli colonial settlement activities across the northern Jordan Valley, aimed at creating new facts on the ground and further consolidating Israeli control over the area.
