Egypt strongly condemns Israeli raid on UNRWA Qalandia training center

RAMALLAH, July 28, 2026 (WAFA) — Egypt condemned the Israeli forces' raid on the Qalandia training center, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), during which students and staff were detained inside the facility.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the raid constitutes a flagrant violation of the sanctity of UN facilities and a continuation of the ongoing Israeli escalation and the blatant, condemned, and unjustified violations witnessed in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The Ministry said such actions constitute a grave breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a violation of the four Geneva Conventions concerning the protection of civilians under occupation.

Egypt affirmed its rejection of all measures aimed at undermining UNRWA's mandate or obstructing its ability to carry out its humanitarian and relief tasks.

Egypt called on the international community, the Security Council, and the United Nations to take urgent measures to halt the repeated Israeli violations against UN facilities and to ensure the protection of UNRWA and enable it to continue fulfilling its UN mandate, thereby contributing to the preservation of the rights of Palestinian refugees in accordance with international law.
