Israeli forces intensify military measures across Ramallah area, detain one Palestinian

RAMALLAH, July 26, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces stormed the vicinity of Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah, on Sunday evening, firing tear gas canisters amidst a military deployment in the area.

Local sources reported that Israeli troops deployed military reinforcements around the camp, while occupation soldiers were also present at the entrance to the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah.

In a related development, occupation forces closed the gate to the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah, disrupting the movement of residents.

Later, Israeli forces set up a military checkpoint near the Martyrs' Memorial in the town of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, where they stopped residents and checked their IDs cards.

Local sources added that Israeli troops were deployed near Mazra'at Salim and blocked vehicles from using the Marj Si' plain road linking the towns of Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, causing further disruption to movement.

The sources said that occupation forces also detained Jihad Amin Abu Aliya as he was passing through the military checkpoint located west of Al-Mughayyir.
