JENIN, Thursday, July 23, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Thursday evening fatally shot a Palestinian near Haddada Roundabout, east of Jenin, according to the Health Ministry.

It said that the occupation soldiers opened fire at Yazan Fakhri Sawafta, 25, near the roundabout, killing him.

It noted that the soldiers withheld the body of Sawafta, a resident of Tubas.

This came after the occupying forces deployed military reinforcements to the vicinity of Haddad military camp and the bypass road, east of the city, while sealing off Haddad Roundabout.

They noted that the deployment was accompanied by a heavy presence of army vehicles and heightened alert along the bypass road, obstructing the movement of residents and vehicles.

This came after an Israeli soldier sustained light wounds following an alleged stabbing attempt near Haddad military camp.
