Twenty Palestinians killed by Israeli colonists since start of 2026, commission says

RAMALLAH, July 23, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said on Thursday that it has documented the killing of 20 Palestinians by Israeli colonists since the beginning of 2026.

In a statement, the commission said the increase in the number of fatalities compared with the previous two years reflects an unprecedented escalation in attacks targeting Palestinians. It said 11 Palestinians were killed by colonists in 2024 and 14 during the whole of 2025.

According to the commission, the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate recorded the highest number of fatalities, with 12 Palestinians killed, accounting for 56 percent of the total. Nablus followed with three fatalities, while Hebron and Jerusalem each recorded two, and Salfit recorded one.

The commission said the rising death toll reflects an escalation in attacks in areas adjacent to pastoral colonial outposts, which it said provide an environment that facilitates colonist violence and aims to impose new realities on the ground through violence and terror.
