RAMALLAH, July 21, 2026 (WAFA) – The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented a notable increase in the issuance of military land seizure orders by the Israeli occupation army, with seven new orders issued in a single week targeting a total of 89.514 dunums of privately owned Palestinian land.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the commission said that all lands targeted for seizure were intended for the construction of new security roads or the completion of buffer zones serving colonies and colonial outposts in the governorates of Ramallah, Jerusalem, and Nablus, extending over a total length of approximately 17.6 kilometers.

It explained that this pattern reveals a clear shift in the use of land seizure orders, from measures the occupation claims are temporary and linked to military needs into a permanent tool for developing the infrastructure of the colonial project. The targeted roads connect existing colonies with colonial outposts, secure movement routes for colonists, and expand security control areas around colonies, thereby consolidating their presence and paving the way for their future expansion.

The commission stressed that the occupation uses the military pretext to legitimize realities imposed by colonists in advance, as routes opened or used illegally by colonists are transformed into official military roads protected by the Israeli occupation army. This deprives Palestinians of access to their lands, imposes permanent restrictions on their use, and creates new buffer zones around colonies.

It said this escalation comes as an extension of the significant increase in land seizure orders witnessed during the current year, which have increasingly focused on the construction of security roads as one of the main tools of creeping annexation, the reengineering of Palestinian geography, and the strengthening of territorial links between colonies and colonial outposts, creating new realities on the ground that will be difficult to reverse in the future.

In its 2026 mid-year report, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented the issuance of 40 military land seizure orders, targeting a total of 611 dunums of Palestinian land. The orders resulted in the establishment of four buffer zones around colonies, the construction of 16 security roads, and the establishment of 12 military sites, in addition to other military-related uses.
