BETHLEHEM, July 19, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces detained two Palestinians, including a 16-year-old child, on Sunday during a raid on the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, as they continued to impose a closure on the village for a second consecutive day.
Husan Village Council head Rami Hamamreh said Israeli forces raided several homes, searched and ransacked their contents, and detained Mohammad Muhannad Zaoul, 24, and Ibrahim Khaled Al-Shaer, 16.
Hamamreh said Israeli forces continue to enforce a tight siege on the village by closing its main entrance, which also serves the western rural area, particularly at the al-Shouli area. The closure has disrupted daily life, forcing shops to close and restricting residents' movement into and out of the village.
He added that Israeli forces have recently intensified their raids and restrictive measures against Husan residents by closing the village's main entrances, as well as the road leading west to the town of Nahhalin.
