RAMALLAH, July 19, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli colonists escalated their attacks across several governorates in the occupied West Bank overnight and early Sunday, setting fire to mosques and homes, assaulting Palestinians, damaging property, and stealing livestock.
In Hebron governorate, colonists attacked two inhabited homes in Wadi al-Rakhim area, south of the town of Yatta, last night and stole three livestock belonging to local Palestinians. Israeli occupation forces also fired live ammunition in the area, with no injuries reported.
Armed colonists, protected by Israeli occupation forces, also attempted to steal sheep in Wadi Ajheish in the town of al-Samu', south of Hebron, but local residents confronted them and forced them to leave the area.
In the village of al-Tuwani in Masafer Yatta, colonists from the illegal colonial outpost of Havat Ma'on set fire last night to two homes belonging to local Palestinian families, as well as the al-Tuwani Mosque. The attack, carried out using highly flammable materials, caused fires to spread across large parts of the properties, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The colonists also vandalized and damaged Palestinian property, including a vehicle.
In Nablus governorate, colonists attacked the al-Zahra area on the outskirts of Beita town to the south this morning, assaulting residents and damaging homes and property. Four Palestinians sustained bruises in the attack.
Colonists had also assaulted a Palestinian youth yesterday while he was on the Jenin-Nablus road near the entrance to Burqa town, north of Nablus, leaving him with an injury to his hand.
Later yesterday evening, colonists set fire to the home of Palestinian resident Suhaib Radwan south of the town of Tell, south of Nablus, completely destroying the inhabited house. The property had previously been targeted in an attack several months ago.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 11,074 attacks during the first half of 2026, reflecting a significant escalation in the frequency, forms, and nature of attacks amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and Palestinian communities.
Colonists carried out 3,488 of those attacks, including assaults on Palestinian villages, attacks on residents, arson attacks on homes, shootings, land seizures, and the establishment of colonial outposts. The attacks resulted in the killing of 17 Palestinians.
