JENIN, July 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israel's Security Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new settlement near the settlement of Sanur, south of Jenin, according to Hebrew media reports.

The decision, proposed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, brings the total number of approved settlements to 103, following the approval of 34 new settlements across the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley in March,.

Smotrich had previously announced the allocation of 1.3 billion shekels ($434 million) for this settlement project, describing the approval as historic and claiming that the move aims to strengthen Israeli control over the West Bank.
