Four family members killed in Israeli strike on Deir al-Balah in central Gaza Strip

GAZA, July 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Four members of the same family, including a woman and her child, were killed early Wednesday morning in an Israeli helicopter stroke targeting  a house in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, shelling and attacks continued in several areas across the Strip.

Medical sources identified the victims as Omar Sami Ahmed Abu Qassem, 33, his wife Asmaa Ghazi Abu Qassem, and their daughter Habiba Omar Sami Abu Qassem, 6, after their home was directly targeted.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery shelled areas northeast of al-Bureij refugee camp, while shelling continued around the camp.

In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli forces carried out extensive demolition operations in the Qizan al-Najjar area south of Khan Younis. Simultaneously, Israeli drones dropped bombs near the Bani Suheila roundabout east of the city, and Israeli tanks fired heavily toward eastern areas.

The Shuja'iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City was also subjected to artillery shelling, as part of a series of attacks targeting several areas in the Gaza Strip, amid ongoing Israeli military operations and an escalation in the bombardment of residential areas.
