Israeli forces compel Palestinian to self-demolish store near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, July 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday compelled a Palestinian to self-demolish his store in the al-Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah, according to security sources.

They said that the occupation authorities compelled Yasser al-Shinni to carry out the self-demolition of his sweets shop after the deadline set by the occupation authorities had expired. His lawyer had informed him that the demolition order could be enforced by the occupation forces at any time.

Using the pretext of illegal building, Israel demolishes houses regularly to restrict Palestinian expansion in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank Area C.

At the same time, the occupation municipality and government build tens of thousands of housing units in illegal colonies in East Jerusalem for Jews to offset the demographic balance in favour of the Jewish colonists in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Israel uses the Jewish nationalist name “Judea and Samaria” to refer to the occupied West Bank to reinforce its bogus claims to the territory and to give them a veneer of historical and religious legitimacy.

There are over 700,000 Israeli colonists living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
