Israeli authorities ban Jerusalem resident from Al-Aqsa Mosque for five months

JERUSALEM, July 11, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities issued an order on Saturday banning a Palestinian resident of Jerusalem from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for five months.

Local sources told WAFA that the order bars Fadl Abu Sneineh from entering the mosque until December 31, 2026.

According to the sources, Abu Sneineh was detained on Friday near Bab Hutta, one of the gates leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, before the weekly Friday prayers.

Israeli authorities have repeatedly issued orders barring Palestinians from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for varying periods, alongside detentions and restrictions on access to the site.
