Israeli forces, colonists injure nine Palestinians south of Hebron

HEBRON, July 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces and colonists on Friday evening injured nine Palestinians in the Isfi al-Fawqa community of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist

Osama Maghamra said that Israeli colonists, under the protection of the occupying forces, descended upon the community and attempted to steal the sheep of the Awad family.

He added that the colonists attacked the community members trying to repel them, resulting in nine casualties, including four women.

The gun-toting soldiers at the scene joined the attack and detained a 15-year-old.

Meanwhile, TRT World reported that Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, invaded a Palestinian family's land in Hawara, in Masafer Yatta, and assaulted members of the family, noting that women and children were among those injured in the attack.

It quoted local sources reporting that the occupation forces at the scene protected the colonists, joined the assault, and detained the male members of the family.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
