JERUSALEM, July 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces issued a one-week ban on Friday preventing Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Earlier on Friday, local sources told WAFA that Israeli forces detained Sheikh Hussein after he concluded the Friday sermon and prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Following his detention, Israeli authorities handed Sheikh Hussein an order barring him from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for one week.
