JENIN, June 22, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces continued excavation and land-leveling works on Monday in the Jabriyat neighborhood in central Jenin city as part of preparations to establish a new military camp in the area, according to local sources.
Sources reported that Israeli bulldozers have been carrying out excavation and land-leveling operations for the seventh consecutive day on a seven-dunum agricultural plot that was seized despite being located in Area A under the Oslo Accords.
In earlier statements, landowner Mansour Qabha said Israeli forces had taken over the property, which is jointly owned by him and several members of his family, despite their possession of official land registration documents proving ownership.
He noted that the family had received a seizure order stating that the land was required for military purposes.
Qabha said the plot is co-owned by 10 individuals, warning that the planned military camp would pose a direct threat to his family and nearby residents and could place them at risk of forced displacement from their homes.
Last week, the occupation forces evacuated two inhabited houses adjacent to the seized land and forced their residents to leave as a preliminary step toward completing the construction of the camp.
The planned military camp overlooks the Jenin refugee camp, which has witnessed large-scale forced displacement since the onset of the Israeli aggression on the city and its camp on January 21, 2025.
The ongoing aggression has displaced approximately 21,000 residents, while nearly half of the camp’s buildings have sustained total or partial destruction, rendering them unfit for habitation.
