Colonists torch two vehicles, spray racist graffiti in village northwest of Ramallah

RAMALLAH, June 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists set fire to two vehicles and spray-painted racist graffiti during a predawn raid on the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, on Tuesday.

Local sources told WAFA that a group of colonists infiltrated the center of the village shortly after midnight and set ablaze the vehicle of village council head Marwan Sabah as well as the vehicle of resident Mohammed Nimr.

The sources added that the colonists also sprayed racist slogans on several house walls and doors before leaving the area.

The attack comes amid an escalation in colonists' assaults on villages and towns across the occupied West Bank, including the burning of homes, vehicles, and other property, physical attacks on residents, and the establishment of new settlement outposts under the protection of Israeli forces.

Umm Safa has been repeatedly targeted by colonists from nearby settlements and outposts built on land belonging to Palestinian residents in the area. These attacks have caused extensive property damage and restricted residents' access to their agricultural lands.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, recent months have witnessed a marked increase in colonists' attacks against Palestinian residents and their property across the West Bank, alongside ongoing settlement expansion and the seizure of additional Palestinian land.
