RAMALLAH, May 31, 2026 (WAFA) — The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that a young Palestinian man died at the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah after being shot by Israeli forces near the separation barrier in the town of Al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem.
According to the ministry, Imad Haroun Ishtayeh, 26, from the village of Salem east of Nablus, succumbed to his wounds after being shot with live ammunition in the thigh when Israeli forces opened fire near the Al-Ram barrier.
The ministry said Ishtayeh was transferred to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, where he later died from his injuries.
According to the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, since October 7, 2023, approximately 50 Palestinian workers have been killed by Israeli forces. The federation also reported that more than 38,000 workers have been arrested and that over 250,000 workers have been prevented from reaching their workplaces inside Israel since the start of the war.
