Foreign Ministry condemns systematic Israeli genocide in al-Mughayyir village, calls for urgent international action

RAMALLAH, April 21, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned, in the harshest terms, the terrorist attack and massacre carried out by colonists’ gangs—described as among the most heinous tools of the Israeli occupation—in full coordination with the occupation army. The colonists’ gangs targeted a school in Al Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, on Tuesday, leading to the killing of two people, including a child, and the injury of at least four others.

The Ministry stressed that the systematic crimes committed by colonists, carried out on a daily basis—including killings, destruction, and theft of property—constitute a deliberate attempt to reproduce the Nakba in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including Jerusalem. It affirmed that these acts amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide aimed at forcing the Palestinian people to leave their land.

The Ministry, in a statement, noted that the ongoing attacks against al-Mughayyir village fall within the occupation’s broader strategy to impose an illegal coercive reality through terror, silent ethnic cleansing, intensified colonial settlement expansion, and the gradual annexation of the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry added that Israel’s continued disregard for the international consensus rejecting colonial settlement activity, coupled with the absence of genuine accountability, encourages further crimes against the Palestinian people and reflects the international community’s failure to enforce international law.

It called for a serious and unified international stance that goes beyond statements of condemnation, particularly from European Union countries, urging immediate and concrete measures. These include designating settlement groups as terrorist organizations, imposing sanctions on the colonial system and the occupation army, and linking relations with Israel to its compliance with international law and relevant legitimacy resolutions, as well as to halting its violations and crimes, in a manner that safeguards the two-state solution and brings an end to colonial occupation policies.

The Ministry affirmed that it will continue its legal, political, and diplomatic efforts to pursue accountability for all those involved in these crimes, to entrench the principle of justice, and to bring an end to the occupation, leading to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
