RAMALLAH, April 21, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the terrorist attack and massacre carried out by settler gangs, in full coordination with the Israeli occupation army. The attack deliberately targeted a school in Al-Mughayyer village on Tuesday, resulting in the killing of two civilians, including a child, and the injury of at least four others.
The Ministry emphasized that the systematic and daily crimes committed by Israeli settlers, including killings, destruction, and theft of property, constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, and amount to a policy of forcible displacement against the Palestinian people. “These acts form part of ongoing attempts to reproduce the Nakba across the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.”
The Ministry further stated that the situation in Al-Mughayyer, northeast of Ramallah, reflects the occupation’s determination to impose an unlawful coercive reality through terror, silent ethnic cleansing, and the expansion of illegal settlements alongside the gradual annexation of the occupied West Bank.
“The continued Israeli disregard for the international consensus rejecting settlements, combined with the absence of effective accountability, only encourages further escalation of crimes against the Palestinian people,” said the Ministry in a statement.
Accordingly, the Ministry called for a serious and unified international response that goes beyond statements of condemnation, particularly from European Union member states. It urges immediate and concrete measures, including the designation of settler organizations as terrorist entities, the imposition of sanctions on the settlement enterprise and the Israeli occupation authorities, and the conditioning of bilateral relations on compliance with international law and United Nations resolutions. It further called for linking international engagement to the cessation of all violations, in order to preserve the viability of the two-state solution.
The Ministry affirmed its continued efforts at the legal, political, and diplomatic levels to hold all perpetrators accountable, to reinforce the principle of ending impunity, and to work toward ending the occupation and realizing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
