RAMALLAH, April 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists stormed the shrine of Prophet Ghaith in the village of Deir Ammar, northwest of Ramallah, on Tuesday.
Local sources said that dozens of colonists stormed the village and headed towards the shrine, an archaeological site dating back to the early Ottoman period. The site covers approximately one dunam (1,000 square meters) and is surrounded by trees and flowers.
The shrine is located on the summit of Mount Nabi Ghaith, at an altitude of approximately 600 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the distinctive natural sites in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate and is included in the tourist routes listed as a protected area in Palestine. Settler incursions into the site have increased recently.
