GENEVA, March 14, 2026 (WAFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) warned today that Israeli restrictions at the Karm Abu Salem Crossing are obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, noting that no medicines or medical supplies have been allowed in, while only fuel shipments have been permitted to enter.
In a statement published on its official website on Saturday, the organization said its teams had unloaded shipments at the crossing but were not allowed to collect them. These include around 50 intensive care unit beds and 170 shipments of medicines.
The WHO added that, according to the weekly schedule, no incoming supplies will be unloaded at the crossing on Saturday or Sunday.
It stressed that Karm Abu Salem crossing currently serves as the only open crossing to the Gaza Strip, noting that daily communication with Israeli authorities is ongoing in an effort to allow more vital humanitarian supplies into the enclave to meet the urgent needs of the population.
