GAZA, January 13, 2026 (WAFA) – A child died this morning in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, due to the extreme cold, amid the catastrophic humanitarian conditions faced by residents, particularly the displaced.
Meanwhile, rescue teams announced this morning the death of four Palestinians and the injury of others as a result of the collapse of parts of two buildings that had been damaged in previous shelling, due to heavy rains and strong winds. They indicated that the situation remains extremely dangerous and that the damaged buildings are no longer safe shelters for residents.
At the same time, Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement, carrying out three demolition operations targeting homes and facilities southeast of Gaza City. Their artillery also shelled the eastern areas of al-Bureij refugee camp, and military vehicles fired machine guns towards the eastern part of Khan Younis.
Warplanes also launched heavy airstrikes on the eastern areas of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, in a new escalation that is likely to deepen the suffering of citizens and displaced persons, amid the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
