GAZA, January 3, 2026 (WAFA) – A young man was killed on Saturday morning by Israeli forces’ gunfire in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, while another citizen was injured in Khan Yunis, amid continued Israeli gunfire and shelling targeting various areas across the Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondents, citing medical sources, said that the young man was killed by Israeli forces’ gunfire near a bus stop in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood.

Another citizen was injured in the abdomen by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital, west of Khan Yunis.

Israeli aircraft also carried out airstrikes targeting the eastern areas of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, Israeli tanks continued to open fire east of Jabalia refugee camp, al-Bureij camp, and Deir al-Balah, while Israeli naval boats fired heavily off the coast of Rafah. Israeli forces also fired smoke bombs east of Jabalia.
