NEW YORK, December 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Popular and media pressure is mounting to withdraw the report "Screams Without Words", published by The New York Times two years ago, as it is considered one of the most influential and dangerous pieces of propaganda covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the past two decades.
Activists who launched the campaign and contacted the newspaper's management assert that the report relied on unreliable accounts and presented narratives used to justify military policies in the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. They argue that it contributed to increased American support for Israel, making it a highly problematic piece that significantly influenced American public opinion at a sensitive time in the region's history.
Those calling for its withdrawal stress that issuing a public correction is a necessary step to restoring trust in professional journalistic standards and to ensuring that the media is not used as a tool to promote misleading narratives that affect people's issues and fundamental rights.
