JENIN, November 26, 2025 (WAFA) — A 20-year-old young Palestinian man was killed on Wednesday night after being hit by Israeli gunfire in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, according to official and local sources.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the victim as Osama Kmeil, who died of his wounds after being shot during an Israeli military incursion into the town.
Local sources said Kmeil was shot in the abdomen while he was in the downtown area of Qabatiya. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors later confirmed his death.
Witnesses reported that Israeli forces stormed the town earlier in the evening, deploying infantry units throughout residential streets and positioning sniper teams on rooftops. Soldiers reportedly opened live fire in multiple areas and raided at least one home, carrying out searches inside.
The incident comes amid a continued Israeli military offensive in the Jenin province. With the killing of Kmeil, the total number of Palestinians killed in Jenin governorate since the start of the current offensive on January 21 has risen to 57, according to latest health statistics.
