HEBRON, October 8, 2025 (WAFA) – An Israeli colonists on Wednesday attempted to ram his vehicle into several Palestinian children in Masafer Yatta, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to an activist.

Osama Makhamra said that a colonist made two separate attempts documented in video footage to run over several children while the latter were in front of their families’ houses in Shi‘b al-Butum, one of the hamlets making up Masafer Yatta, but they miraculously survived the attempted attack.

The same colonist attempted to run over two Palestinians on a roadside in Khallet Ad-Dabi‘ before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, armed colonists hurled stones at Palestinians’ dwellings in Huwara, east of Yatta, and attempted to take over a dwelling, but the they were repelled by the inhabitants.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
