Israel renews ban on Palestinian woman from Al-Aqsa Mosque

JERUSALEM, September 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces renewed an order barring Palestinian activist Khadija Khweis from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for another six months, according to local sources.

In parallel with the order, Israeli soldiers storm the Al-Sawana neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.

Kweis, a former prisoner, has been arrested several times and barred from the West Bank, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Old City of Jerusalem. She also faced multiple travel bans.

The occupation forces have also arrested her more than 30 times, banned her from traveling for more than four years, and denied her health insurance for more than three years on false pretenses.

Dozens of activists, worshipers, and Jerusalemite figures are systematically targeted with arrests and bans from the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially during Jewish holidays.

In a separate incident, Israeli soldiers stormed the al-Sawana neighborhood and set up a checkpoint at the western entrance to the town of al-Issawiya, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, obstructing the movement of residents to and from the town.
