RAMALLAH, September 21, 2025 (WAFA) – A group of Israeli colonists physically assaulted a Palestinian family on Sunday in the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, injuring several members, including an elderly man.

Eyewitnesses reported that settlers attacked 70-year-old Sadeq Maali Farkhaneh and his sons while they were near their home in the Harayeq area on the eastern outskirts of the village. The family was beaten severely, sustaining bruises and cuts to their heads and hands.

The assailants also vandalized a nearby vehicle, smashing its windows during the attack.

Earlier in the day, colonists had released their livestock onto Palestinian farmland in the same area, causing significant damage to crops and fruit trees. The attack is part of an ongoing, state-funded campaign of colonist violence and harassment targeting agricultural lands and pastures, aimed at forcing Palestinians to abandon their property and make way for settlement expansion.

These acts of violence follow a deadly incident just over a week ago, when colonists opened fire on a group of young men between Deir Jarir and the neighboring town of Silwad, killing 21-year-old Mohammad Issa Alawi.
