Israeli colonists prevent Palestinian farmers from working in their land in Jordan Valley

JORDAN VALLEY, August 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Sunday prevented Palestinian farmers from working on their agricultural land in the northern Jordan Valley, northeast of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

A group of colonists forced a Palestinian farmer out of his land near the village of Al-Farisiyya in the region, preventing him from preparing it for the upcoming farming season.

Last year, repeated attacks and pressure from Israeli forces and colonists forced several Palestinian families to leave the same area. It is now almost devoid of Palestinian presence due to the escalation of settler violence and forced displacement.

The Jordan Valley, which makes up nearly 30% of the occupied West Bank, is considered a strategic and fertile area. It has long been a focus of Israeli colonization efforts, including land confiscation, the construction of outposts, and restrictions on Palestinian movement and access to water resources.

Human rights organizations have warned that these actions amount to a systematic campaign aimed at dispossessing Palestinians and consolidating Israeli control over large parts of the West Bank in violation of international law.
