Israeli colonists brutally assault Palestinian woman, her son in Bethlehem-area village

BETHLEHEM, August 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists brutally assaulted a Palestinian woman and her son in the village of Al-Minya, east of Bethlehem, according to local sources.

The head of the village council, Zayed Kawazbeh, said that a group of colonists broke into the western area of the village and raided the home of the Abu Khalil Jabarin family.

During the raid, the colonists assaulted 50 -year-old Siham Jabarin and her son Raafat, who were both subsequently transferred to the hospital.

He added that the occupation forces raided the area and detained the family's eldest son, Khalil Jabarin.

Kawazbeh affirmed that Israeli troops provide protection to the colonists during such attacks against Palestinian residents and their proprieties, as part of a clear policy aimed at displacing them from their own lands.

He emphasized that the village of Al-Minya, which has a population of approximately 3,000, has been afflicted by the ongoing colonist attacks, which have included the closure of its main entrances from the western and southern sides, in addition to the closure of the high school since the beginning of the aggression.

Kawazbeh pointed out that colonists had previously seized approximately 250 dunams of the village's land and built a solar power plant to supply electricity to the Ma'ale Amos and Ibi Hanahel illegal outposts, both built on Kisan lands.

He appealed to the international community and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to halt the attacks by the occupation forces along with its colonists, which have besieged the village and restricted the daily lives of its residents.
