Colonists escalate attacks on Palestinians in Bethlehem and northern Jordan Valley

BETHLEHEM, August 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Colonists on Saturday stormed the area of Khillat Umm al-Hasan, east of Kisan village east of Bethlehem, and threatened a Palestinian citizen to forcibly leave his home within 24 hours.

Ahmed Ghazal, secretary of the Fatah movement in Kisan, told WAFA correspondent that a group of colonists raided the home of citizen Nassar Rashaida, a tent-like structure roofed with aluminum sheets, and threatened to burn the house and assault his family if they did not leave the property.

About a month ago, Ghazal added that the colonists also demolished Rashaida’s previous home, built of bricks and concrete.

Kisan village and its surroundings, particularly the Khillat Umm al-Hasan area, are continuously subjected to repeated attacks by colonists, including home raids, assaults on farmers, and attempts to seize land, all under the protection of occupation forces who provide cover for these violations.

Ghazal called on local and international human rights and humanitarian institutions to urgently intervene to protect Rashaida and his family, consisting of about 30 members, including his children, their spouses, and grandchildren, and to prevent attempts at their forced displacement.

Meanwhile, armed colonists today stormed the tents of a Palestinian citizen in Al-Farisiyah, a village in the northern Jordan Valley.

Local sources reported that several armed colonists raided the tents of a local citizen in Al-Farisiyah, spreading fear and panic among children and women.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their properties has sharply escalated since the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7, 2023, drawing widespread condemnation and prompting several countries to impose sanctions on Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence in the West Bank.
