Israeli colonists open live fire on civilians near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, August 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Friday evening opened live fire on Palestinian civilians in the Sinjil town, north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that colonists driving a vehicle stormed the western part of the town and opened fire at defenseless villagers, but without any casualties.

Colonists also barged their way into the Tell and al-Baten localities in the town.

Sinjil has become the target of repeated colonist attacks in recent months, with Palestinians accusing the Israeli forces of colluding with colonists by blocking ambulances from reaching the wounded and directly attacking Palestinians.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
