JERICHO, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) – Colonists on Sunday set up a new colonial outpost in Shallalat al-Auja village, north of Jericho, according to a local official.
Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, said colonists established the new outpost in the village on Sunday evening, bringing with them zinc sheets, caravans, and construction equipment. They also seized a residential caravan that belongs to a displaced family.
Maihat stressed that this step comes as part of an expansionist colonial policy aimed at displacing Palestinian residents and threatening security and stability in the area.
He added that colonists raid the village daily, harassing residents, grazing their livestock among homes, and cutting off their water supply, in a clear attempt to increase pressure on them.
He emphasized that such practices constitute a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the indigenous residents’ rights to their land, calling on the international community to take urgent action to stop these violations that increase the suffering of Palestinian citizens.
He also appealed to all human rights and humanitarian bodies to stand in solidarity with the residents of the village and support them in confronting these attacks.
