Extremist Israeli organization calls for demolishing school near Hebron

HEBRON, August 10, 2025 (WAFA) – An extremist Israeli colonial organization called on Sunday for the halt on construction as well as the demolition of a school in the Bedouin Badia, south of Hebron.

Activist Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that members of the extremist colonial organization Regavim posted provocative leaflets on the walls of the Bat Zuwaydin Secondary School in the Bedouin Badia, south of Hebron.

The leaflets called on the Israeli government to halt work and demolish the school. They argued that keeping the school as part of the infrastructure would encourage Palestinians to build and remain in the area.

It is worth noting that the school is located within the organizational master plan for the Bedouin community in Zuwaydin, and work has been underway to establish and build it for more than four years.

The extremist organization Regavim was established in 2006, and the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich is considered one of its most prominent founders. It is a far-right organization that seeks to create so-called "legal channels for implementing demolition orders issued by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian homes and facilities."

Regavim's work is concentrated in the occupied Naqab area and expands to include all Palestinian territories, particularly Area C, which constitutes 60% of the occupied West Bank. The organization has free access to geographic and demographic information about the area with a permit from the Civil Administration. It uses geographic information systems and conducts detailed aerial photography to document the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
