Israeli colonists release livestock to damage Palestinian lands in Masafer Yatta

HEBRON, August 4, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists released their livestock on Monday to graze on privately-owned Palestinian farmland planted with saplings and fruit trees in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron.

Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, released their cattle onto Palestinian lands in the villages of Aqwawis and Sha'b al-Batm, in a deliberate move to damage crops and fruit-bearing trees.

Makhamreh affirmed that such step is in an attempt to seize Palestinian lands and expand nearby colonies.

He confirmed that a colonist-operated bulldozer is carrying out excavation work in the village of Umm al-Khair in Masafer Yatta. The occupation army also stormed the town of al-Karmel, east of Yatta, and set up a military checkpoint in the middle of the town.

During the incursion, the gun-toting soldiers stopped Palestinian vehicles, searching their contents, inspecting IDs, and delaying residents’ movement.

Makhamreh called on international and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to halt the daily attacks and violations carried out by armed Israeli colonists against defenseless Palestinians in Masafer Yatta.
