KHAN YUNIS, August 3, 2025 (WAFA) – The administrative headquarters of the Al-Amal City, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, was subjected to direct and successive Israeli artillery shelling after midnight last night.
This resulted in the killing of one of the society's staff members, the injury of several others, and extensive material damage.
The PRCS stated that the shelling began around 12:50 a.m., with the first shell targeting the upper floors of the building.
This was followed by a second shelling at 1:02 a.m. while the staff were inspecting the damage. The third shelling targeted the first floor at 1:07 a.m. during firefighting efforts, indicating repeated targeting of the site during rescue operations.
The shelling resulted in the killing of Omar Mansour Hamdan Aslim, a member of the PRCS staff. His body was recovered in two stages, the first at dawn and the second in the morning. Three others were injured, including two PRCS staff members, and other residents of the neighborhood were seriously injured.
The damage included the destruction of administrative rooms and important facilities, such as the disaster and volunteer rooms. The upper floors were unable to be inspected due to the ongoing shelling.
The association began evacuating its staff to Al-Amal Hospital and providing medical care to the injured, amid difficult field conditions and constant danger to the crews' lives.
The attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international conventions guaranteeing the protection of humanitarian and relief facilities and threatens the continuity of the services provided by the association in one of the most affected areas in the Gaza Strip.
