GAZA, July 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Medical sources reported that 21 Palestinian civilians were killed, including 15 who were killed as a result of inhaling tear gas fired by the Israeli occupation forces at aid seekers in southern Khan Yunis since the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to WAFA correspondent, Israeli forces attacked thousands of people waiting for humanitarian aid, firing live ammunition and tear gas, resulting in a high number of casualties.
This marks the first time fatalities have been recorded due to tear gas inhalation and stampedes at aid distribution centers, which have increasingly become death traps for civilians seeking food and relief.
Just days ago, the UN Human Rights Office stated that at least 798 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the end of May while attempting to access humanitarian aid.
Additionally, 169 humanitarian organizations earlier this month called for an end to the U.S.-Israeli aid distribution mechanism led by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, citing near-daily reports of Palestinians being shot and killed by Israeli forces while waiting near aid centers.
