Elderly Palestinian man suffers fractures and bruises after colonist attack in Bethlehem-area village

BETHLEHEM, July 14, 2025 (WAFA) – An elderly Palestinian man sustained serious injuries on Monday after a brutal attack by Israeli colonists  in the village of Al-Minya, southeast of Bethlehem.

According to Zayed Kawazba, head of the village council, a group of Israeli colonists attacked and assaulted 60-year-old Abdel Mahdi Matour with sticks, causing multiple injuries to his face and hand.

The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) confirmed that Matour suffered a broken jaw and a fractured hand. He was given first aid and later rushed to Beit Jala Government Hospital for further medical assistance.

Earlier today, the same group of colonists erected four tents in the “Al-Qarn” area of the village and uprooted approximately 1,500 olive saplings belonging to the Matour and Jabarin families.

This incident is part of a border systematic effort to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands.
