WASHINGTON, D.C., July 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across major U.S. cities on Saturday in widespread protests denouncing the genocidal war waged by Israel on the Gaza Strip.
Held under the banner Pro-Palestine Protests Near You: Stop the Gaza Genocide, the demonstrations spanned cities including San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City’s Manhattan borough.
Protesters condemned the escalating Israeli attacks in Gaza, carried out with American weapons and taxpayer funding. Many carried signs that read, "A child is killed every 40 minutes," underscoring the high civilian toll, particularly among women and children.
Chants and speeches during the rallies called for an immediate halt to U.S. arms exports to Israel and a suspension of military aid, which activists say has been used in attacks on hospitals, refugee camps, and civilian neighborhoods.
Organizers emphasized that continued American support for the war contradicts public sentiment and humanitarian principles, urging lawmakers to take action to prevent further bloodshed.
