NABLUS, June 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists resumed construction on Thursday of an illegal outpost in the town of Huwara, located south of the West Bank city of Nablus, according to local officials.
Rana Abu Haniya, Head of Public Relations at the Huwara Municipality, said colonists began clearing land and cutting down olive and forest trees in the Jabal al-Ras area, which lies about 500 meters from residential homes.
She added that the colonists rebuilt several makeshift structures and set up tents connected to an electricity supply. Residents have been prevented from accessing nearby lands and even some homes still under construction in the area.
Abu Haniya noted that the colonists had first attempted to establish a presence in the same area in early March by erecting tents, but local residents confronted them and thwarted their attempts at the time.
