Israeli colonist attacks Palestinians near Ramallah under army protection

RAMALLAH, June 2, 2025 (WAFA) –  An Israeli colonist, accompanied by his livestock and under the protection of the Israeli military, assaulted Palestinian civilians and activists on Monday morning in the Abu Hammam hamlet, located south of the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

Local sources reported that the colonist, escorted by Israeli occupation forces, stormed the Al-Khalayel area and attacked members of the Abu Naeem family along with several activists.

The colonist also reportedly stole two mobile phones during the incident.

This attack comes just days after colonists set fire to over 200 square meters of farmland in the Marj Si’ area, situated between Al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah.

Colonists have been targeting the agricultural lands and property in the area, with attacks intensifying since the recent establishment of a new illegal outpost nearby.

According to human rights organizations, colonists carried out 231 acts of vandalism and theft against Palestinian property throughout April. These incidents included the destruction and seizure of large tracts of farmland, as well as the uprooting of 1,168 olive trees—530 in Ramallah, 300 in Nablus, and 298 in Salfit.
