RAMALLAH, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked the village of Rammun, east of Ramallah, on Wednesday.
Local sources reported that colonists infiltrated the village at dawn, burned several vehicles, and spray-painted racist slogans on residents' homes.
Yesterday, colonists attacked residents' homes in Qaryut, south of Nablus, burning and destroying seven vehicles. They also burned agricultural crops in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.
During April, colonists carried out 231 acts of vandalism and theft of citizens' property, affecting vast areas of land. Settler attacks also resulted in the uprooting of 1,168 olive trees, distributed across the governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, and Salfit.
Extremist Israeli colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
All colonies across the West Bank are illegal under international law, particularly article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which establishes that the occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.
