Ankara: 200 union leaders from 41 countries condemn genocide in Gaza

ANKARA, April 21, 2025 (WAFA) – Two hundred trade union leaders from 41 countries gathered on Monday in front of the United Nations representative office in Ankara to denounce the ongoing genocide being committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

The demonstration took place alongside the International Conference on Labor, Digitalization, and Social Justice, and was marked by a strong show of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Participants held banners reading “No to War,” “Free Palestine,” and statistics highlighting the staggering toll of the war, including the killing of 17,954 children and 12,365 women.

The union leaders described the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip as genocide.

They emphasized that the destruction is not limited to military strikes, but includes the blockade of food and medical supplies.

The demonstrators also emphasized that the international community’s double standards were unacceptable.

At the conclusion of the protest, a wreath was laid at the entrance of the United Nations office in Ankara in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in Gaza.
