BETHLEHEM, April 4, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked Palestinian shepherds today in the wilderness of Al-Maniya village, east of Bethlehem, according to local sources.
Zayed Kawazbeh, the head of the Al-Maniya Village Council, told our correspondent that the colonists targeted the shepherds in the Rabi'a area and attempted to seize approximately 200 sheep owned by local resident Awni Shalalda. However, local residents were able to confront the attackers and recover the livestock.
Kawazbeh added that Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and stun grenades at the residents, leading to several cases of suffocation from gas inhalaiton. The soldiers also assaulted a number of children and women.
During the assault, Israeli forces briefly detained 27 young men in the village, handcuffed them, and forced them to sit on the ground before letting them go.
