Protests in 80 Spanish cities demand an end to Israeli genocide and lasting peace in Palestine

MADRID, March 30, 2025 (WAFA) – Last night, protests took place in over 80 cities across Spain, calling for a lasting peace in Palestine and condemning the genocide being committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.

Spanish citizens gathered in public squares throughout the country, with notable demonstrations in the capital, Madrid, to show solidarity with Palestine.

Protesters urged the international community to halt the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people, raising Palestinian flags alongside signs reading "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a Criminal," "Freedom for Palestine," and "Peace."

The protests also featured a statement read by the "Stop the War" movement, which organized the demonstrations and included around 100 civil society organizations in Spain.

The statement emphasized that these protests were a response to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire in Gaza, its crimes against innocent civilians and the escalating genocide.
