Libya condemns renewed Israeli aggression on Gaza

TRIPOLI, March 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Wednesday condemned the renewal of Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry described this aggression as a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law and a clear breach of the recently reached ceasefire agreement.

Libya called for urgent and decisive measures to protect the Palestinian people from these ongoing crimes and violations to ensure that those responsible are held accountable, as they represent a continuation of the occupation's policies of killing, displacement, and the obliteration of legitimate rights.

The Libyan Ministry further called on the international community and active international organizations to take all necessary measures to protect lives and holy sites from the ongoing aggression and violations of international and humanitarian law and human rights.

It reiterated Libya's steadfast and supportive support for the just Palestinian cause and its absolute solidarity and backing for the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to achieve their inalienable rights.

Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip, carrying out a wave of bloody airstrikes on five Gaza municipalities and killing hundreds of Palestinians, including over 100 children.

The death toll topped 412 with more than 564 others wounded, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Emergency teams are attempting to recover victims still trapped beneath the rubble.
